Our first day in Arches National Park focused on the more accessible features, so a bit more driving and a bit less hiking. But as Arches is the most concentrated area of natural arches in the world, we were able to see quite a bit with this approach. Starting with Balanced Rock and yoga poses, we then scrambled up rock piles around the Windows arches and Double Arch. After a lunch in a valley between rock "fins," we then hiked a bit less than a mile in to see Landscape Arch. All provided ample photographic inspiration, but the latter was most impressive spanning over 300 feet with what seems like impossibly thin sections in the middle. It felt like there is a decent probability of that arch collapsing at some time during our life times, which made it feel all the more special that we were able to witness it intact.
