Cars are not allowed in most of Zion, so on this first day in the park, we learned the ins and outs of using the shuttle service. Most importantly, arrive early to avoid a 45 minute line to get on one. :( However, any frustrations were quickly dissipated as we headed toward the trail head for Sabina's chosen hikes: Weeping Rock and Hidden Canyon. [aside: Prior to the trip, both Logan and Sabina did some research on different activities to do in each of our destinations, and they presented these ideas to an audience of grandparents and parents before we left.]
Weeping Rock delivered as the name predicted, but Hidden Canyon went above and beyond our expectations. Ascending quickly, we soon found ourselves crossing a narrow ledge on a cliff wall clinging to iron chains for safety. Once on top we found ourselves in a beautiful slot canyon that served as a perfect spot for lunch. Logan and Sabina proved to be great rock scramblers and hikers!
