Day 2: Leadville Ghost Town

Getting high up above the valley floor helped to beat the heat a bit, so we drove out of the park and back in via a dirt road toward Titus Canyon (see next post). Along the way we stopped at the remains of Leadville, a mining town that boomed August of 1926 and was abandoned less than a year later. It was a good place for lunch and a bit of exploring...
