Day 1: a long, hot slog

512 miles and almost 11 hours can be tiring on any road trip, but throw in some heat,

Is it really "Paradise City" if it's 118 degrees!?

and it could be downright brutal. Good thing we have some happy travellers,

a fantastic setup, newly christened Sylvester (for the silver trailer) and Tweety Bird (the obvious companion - and love the irony of Tweety being the horsepower!),

I tawt I taw a puddy tat!

some spectacular scenery,

and a gorgeous sunset to cap the day.

Oh what adventures await tomorrow!
