Day 12: Uh oh, someone turned 46...

Yep, that's me. For my birthday, my wonderful family allowed me to sneak out of the trailer at sunrise to go for a solo bike ride up the canyon into Zion. It was a beautiful morning, despite the heavy rains that hit the night before, and I was able to get a fantastic 30-miler in, turning around at Shuttle stop #3 in the park. On my return I was surprised by a trailer covered in post-it's with sweet notes for me as well as a birthday pancake breakfast. The birthday celebration continued after we loaded up and drove to Bryce Canyon National Park, where we had an incredible steak dinner and I got to open gifts. I truly feel like the luckiest guy in the world.
